A Puerta Vallarta Surprise

Brian and I had flown down to Puerta Vallarta for a much needed sun-filled vacation (to give us a break from the Seattle rain). Half way through the vacation we had taken a cataraman cruise and both came back to the hotel room exhausted. He jumped in the shower real fast to try and revive himself before we headed out for dinner. I decided to do the same thing as soon as he finished. As I got out of the shower I noticed some rose petals sticking up from under the door. I never even thought that a proposal was in the works. We have been dating for one year and I just thought he wasn't ready for a full commitment like marriage. I just thought he was being the romantic guy that he was. So I got out of the shower and noticed that the rose petals made a path to the balcony of our hotel room. Our hotel was beachfront and had a beautiful view of the sun just about to set on the water at that moment. I decided to jump into some clothes and brush my hair real fast so we could enjoy the moment. I then followed the rose path to the balcony and noticed Brian was no where to be found.

However I did find a couple of lit candles and two full wine glasses sitting on the table. There was also an elegant ice bucket in the middle with a sign that read "Open...surprise inside". Still a proposal was not even considered in my mind. I thought maybe he was going to send me on a treasure hunt to find him or a present (which he has done in the past). I opened the ice bucket and to my utter disbelief there was the diamond ring staring me right in the face. I couldn't move, breath, think, or do anything. I just stood there in shock. Meanwhile he had snuck up behind me, bent on one knee and waited for me to turn around. I never did because I was still in shock. So he said "Will you marry me Suzanne. I would like nothing else in the world than to be your husband." This woke me up from my shock. As I turned around, tears started strolling down my face. "Of course" I said. "I'd love to be your wife!" We held each other the rest of the night talking and dreaming of our life together.
