The Perfect Valentines Day

We had not had successful holidays, or a Valentines Day for that matter, in the past. Something always seemed to go wrong. Well, Steve decided to propose to me on Valentines Day 1997. I had no idea. We dressed up, Steve gave me a beautiful long stemmed pink rose, and we went to the most romantic restaurant in Denton. Steve had forgotten to make reservations! *sigh* The next 2 hours we drove around Denton trying to find a nice restaurant that wasn't booked solid. I was starting to get very aggravated. Little did I know!

We finally decided to go to our favorite hole-in-the-wall Greek restaurant, Arcadia's. It was the perfect decision. We had a wonderful meal in a place we frequented often while dating. At the end of the meal he gave me a card. As I was reading the card, the realization hit that he was proposing. He then slid the ring box across the table and before he could even get down on his knees I was up and in his arms crying. I said yes, of course. :)

It ended up being a perfect Valentines Day, after all!
